We have a lot to be thankful for. Every day in my gratitude journal I give thanks for having the opportunity to do what I love for a living. It’s not always easy, and I’ve made huge sacrifices in order to do so, but every morning I get to wake up to a vocational calling I am passionate about working with people I love.
The holiday season isn’t always kind to folks who make their living coaching fitness or the families that depend on them. If January is the fitness trainer’s gold rush, December is the barren desert we must try to survive in order to reach the new year El Dorado.
But this year our Empower community has really opened their hearts. As of last week, contributions to the equipment fund exceeded our goal and have gone beyond covering the equipment already purchased. It looks like we will be doing some Boxing Day shopping this year to add some more great equipment!
There has also been a generous outpouring of personal cards and gifts, none of which were expected or required. Your ongoing support is love enough for us. But gifts we have received aplenty.
I write this riding a sugar high of Hard Rock’s delicious cookies as I reflect upon last night: Two elves in the style of Sandman and The Truth appeared at our door bearing an incredible gift from our membership, an infrared sauna!
This unexpected over-the-top gift transformed our evening! After enjoying a delicious roast courtesy of Bruiser and KMT’s selection of fine wine, we retired to our new sauna with cups of tea from Dangers and Peril to enjoy the relaxation and healing benefits of infrared. Who on a coaches’ salary gets to spend a Saturday evening like that in the comfort of their own home?
Thank you for every gift, card, and kind word, we’re overwhelmed by your generosity and hope that we can give back in kind!
Wishing you the happiest of holidays and bountiful health in the new year!
