4:15am alarm.  Almost 8 hours sleep.  Still sleepy.

Walked up Dunbar towards a long day of work in a hot, humid Vancouver day.  The CrossFit Group Classes had a big WOD and we had to work hard to squeeze in heats.  A big turn out today so congratulations to everyone who toughed it out, especially those who went RX’d: Magnum, Dangers, Sandman, Dr. T, Super Mario, Bruiser, BFG, HeeHee, Mighty Mouse & Beastor!  I had BFG pegged to win this one but Magnum & his magnificent engine proved me wrong as he crushed wall balls & killed the row to put up the best time!

Between group classes & fundamentals I had brief breaks to eat and use the washroom but never long enough to sit down or do any work.  It was 2pm before I had a moment to myself and in that moment I had to do Hero WOD DT:

6 Push Press @155#

In the spirit of preserving my back health I had to take it easy so I didn’t look at my previous best.  Even breaking things up I felt some numbness down my right leg but not too bad.  21:31 was my finish time compared to a previous best of 16:20.  But staying healthy takes priority over being fast.

I got work done quickly enough that I had a few minutes to read before the evening classes came in.

Where I really wanted to be was Kaelin’s school.  He wrote, directed and starred in a play on Greek mythology.  His teacher liked it so much she asked them to perform it at a special presentation for parents tonight.  I wanted to be there so badly but could not get the night off.  The Touch would normally have covered for me but Makenna’s preschool also had an event for parents tonight:(

During Open Gym The Calm joined me for some of my play day games.  I kept the volume low due to fatigue, space restrictions and the fact that my right wrist is still irritated after Mondays headstand to handstand presses.

Hit Girl gave me a lift home after the 8pm class.

At home I watched the video recording of Kaelin’s play.  It was full of wit and his clever punchlines.  So proud of him and his clear delivery of lines.  A natural born performer.

So tired.  Such a long day.  So happy to sleep.
