Are you excited for a strength day? Tuesday will be a good day for you to work on the back squat, shoulder press, and deadlift. Planning a head will go a long way.
Generally on lifting days we want to come in with a plan. Because of the format of Tuesday a plan is more important than most other lifting days. We will be descending by two reps from ten until two on the back squat, shoulder press, and deadlift.
Depending, on how you are feeling, there are two approaches: use the bigger sets to help you warm up for a heavy double, or hold a slightly higher percentage throughout and go a little lighter on the double set. Both options will help you get stronger. How will you play this one?
We have a lot of lifting to do in one hour. Here are something’s that will help us be successful;
- Preplan your lifts. What will you lift for each set and what is your plan a and plan b?
- Review the videos
- Grab a barbell and some plates on your way into the gym and go to a rack.
- Make time before class starts to do a general warm up. This can be done outside if you are waiting for the class in front of you to end.
- Have fun It will be a great lifting day and opportunity to improve our strength and technique.
A little bit of planning will go a long way for Tuesday’s workout. Come prepared and ready for some lifting.
