Woke to 4:15am alarm. Not an 8-hor sleep (0pts).
After breakfast walked up Dunbar to work in the dark (-1pt). An overcast Vancouver day.
Group classes worked on handstands and handstand walks. Hard Rock actually got 5x10feet of handstand walk but there were many other breakthroughs too with kicking up to handstand and other related skills. Pleased with the progress!

If this looks familiar it is because we did it 2 weeks ago without the deficit. In that WOD the HSPU was the easy part. Not today. I remember when I couldn’t do a deficit HSPU at all. Getting my first one felt like a 1 rep max deadlift, I was dizzy and spent afterwards. Today I was busting them out in sets of 3! By round 4 & 5 I fatigued a bit and though I always got the first set of 3 complete I ended up finishing both rounds with singles.
The time cap on this event is a crazy 16 minutes! It took me 23 minutes without the HSPU deficit, today I would have been happy to finish under 30 minutes but I just couldn’t do it. 31.52. (-2pts)
A lot of distractions today so though I got my urgent tasks complete, it wasn’t my most productive day.
In the afternoon I did my second training. It is my Wednesday play day where I work on skill development. I practice a bit of skipping and pistols, a few things relevant to CrossFit WODs but mostly I goof around with other fun elements that rarely if ever show up in CrossFit. I don’t care, I just like them. It is pure play. Today I had some company and that really made it even more playful. Totally great fun! (-1pt)
The 5pm attendance is underwhelming. One person Monday, no one today:(
6pm solid then Fundamentals but only Special at 8pm. She gave me a lift home at day’s end.
