Though it is one of the primary 9 lifts CrossFit coaches are taught at the Level 1 and Level 2 coaching courses the Sumo Deadlift High Pull is a lift that is often poorly done. In some cases, never done. Our guest Nathalie a 3-year veteran of CrossFit in Bangkok had never seen this lift before.
Today on Dunbar Street in Vancouver, thanks to the brevity of the WOD, we had ample time for each class to really break down and practice this technique. We made some solid progress in this one today. We saw some great lifts!
The RX’d weight was heavy. Bruiser was the only woman to RX it and her score was superb.
Among the men RXing it Magnum took top spot. Sandman, Dangers, Brick, BFG & Mr. Fantastic also completed RX’d.
