Hello, fellow Empower people!

I’m delighted to join the Empower team as Customer Success Manager.

I joined Empower about a year ago. I onboarded with The Touch and have been suffering from sore abs ever since, lol.

Seriously, though, Empower has been a wonderful experience for me—I love the community and the results I’ve experienced (on so many levels). I believe in what we do here strongly—so I’m delighted to engage with our community in a new way.

I usually attend the noon or 5:00 class. So if you see me, please say hello!

Here’s a little bit about me so we can get to know each other better.

My fitness journey…

I would never have described myself as athletic as a young person. I participated in PE in school, under duress. I didn’t mind baseball, soccer and volleyball but that was about it.

I absolutely detested the mandated annual Canada Fitness Award Program. IT WAS THE WORST! There's nothing more dejecting than comparing yourself to your peers with little preparation and getting the participation award.

By the time I was in university, I had discovered aerobics, yoga, and pilates—but went very inconsistently.

I was also a big proponent of step classes for a while.

That's me on the far right. No, not really.

More recently, I joined Orangetheory and did that for a couple of years. Eventually though, I grew bored and looked for other options—which brought me to Empower about a year ago.

Today, in addition to Empower, I enjoy hiking, biking, and swimming.

I also take the occasional Cumbia and Salsa dance class (thus the nickname), at Dance Vancouver. So much fun! And the music is the best.

Meet the fam

I’m the proud mom of two young adults. One is a student at UVIC and one at UBC Okanagan. Aren’t they lovely?!

My husband and I met while studying at UBC. Since then, we’ve lived in Vancouver, Sweden, Toronto, and then back to Vancouver again. We’ll be celebrating our 31st anniversary this year. This pic pretty much sums up our relationship, 😂

I started my own content marketing business, Copperplate Communications, about 15 years ago. My clients are mostly B2B SMBs needing help with their marketing strategies and content, from case studies to ebooks to ghostwritten articles.
