2012 Chipper

2012 CrossFit Games Pyramid Chipper

August 10, 20241 min read

This Saturday, we’re taking on a workout inspired by the 2012 CrossFit Games: a pyramid-style chipper that will push your endurance, strength, and mental fortitude to the limit. The workout consists of six demanding movements: overhead squats, box jump overs, thrusters, power cleans, toes-to-bars, and burpee muscle-ups.

For the barbell movements, the key is to choose a weight that allows you to complete the 10 reps in two sets or less. You’ll have one barbell, so be prepared to change plates between movements. If the class is crowded, you may need to share your barbell with someone of similar strength.

If burpee muscle-ups aren’t an option yet, several modifications are available to suit your current level. You can opt for burpee chest-to-ring pull-ups, burpee chin-over-ring pull-ups, burpee ring rows, burpee chest-to-bar pull-ups, or burpee jumping pull-ups.

See you all in group classes, on the zoom, or in the open gym.

Cheers,
Big Cat
