Close of the year reset
“Never rest on past success. Create something better.” –Ron Kaufman
Thought of the day
It is the time of year again to start to reset and see what the big things to take down for 2025 will be. 2024 was a good year with navigating many hiccups but growing and learning from them along the way. There is one more Jiu Jitsu competition for the year and then it will be time to focus on what next year’s competitive and life schedule holds. Training for me right now is slow and steady just focusing on moving well and going back to basics. Until the New Year it will be a little lower intensity and challenging myself in different ways. What does this season in your training look like for you?
As the holiday season quickly approaches there will be many distractions. From work parties to all the other holiday get-together’s it is easy to get off track. You don’t need to stop training, consistency is the most important, and you can create a different focus for the rest of the year. For me this looks like slowing down, scaling the difficulty, or doing more EMOM style training. It is more about skill work then max intensity and chasing personal bests. What skill or mindset will you focus on to set you up for success in 2025?
If you need support on how to stay on track during this holiday season your Empower coaches are here to help. We can set you up with a good plan and create a strategy to keep you on track while dealing with holiday distractions. If you are someone that usually falls off track we have your back. Consistency is king even is it’s not at the intensity you are accustomed to. As we come to the close of 2024 what will you focus on to set yourself up for success next year?
