Making bigger goals

Goals 2

If I told you to reach your big goal it will take you a decade to get there, would you still be willing to start the journey? This was a question posed to us by one of the speakers at the two brain summit. It is fair to say, because many of us give up on our goals way to early.  I have been on my diet for two minutes and still the same weight, might as well get back to drinking all the beer and all the nachos. This might be a little exaggerated, but how many times have you sold your effort short because things are harder than you first thought? If your goals are not worth working toward and taking time to accomplish you maybe selling yourself short.

Goals 3

This week, sit down with your long term family, health, and work goals. Now are all the things on the list worth taking your time for or do you need to dream bigger? In our industry there is always a shake weight or exercise pill lurking around every corner. But the stuff that really works takes time, dedication, and a focus that these quick fixes don’t offer. Even if the journey is hard you are not alone on the path. There are others out there willing to take their time to accomplish bigger things. Even if it takes a long time the person you become along the way will be someone worth knowing. For me in martial arts I have picked the harder path to getting my black belts. In many arts I would have been a black belt already but am currently sitting at purple belt in jiu Jitsu and Brown in Judo. I will say the lessons along the way have definitely added to me as a person and as a martial artist. It has been the right choice for me to take the long road.

Goals 4

They can take many things from you, but the knowledge and lessons you have worked hard for can never be taken. Don’t be afraid to dream big, work harder, and take your time to accomplish something that scares you. Do you have a target big enough that it worth really working for?
