Keep Moving: The Quiet Power of Progress Over Perfection

April 15, 20252 min read

"One step at a time. Baby steps are still steps. Crawl if you must, but keep moving forward. You will never be defeated as long as you keep moving." – Toni Sorenson

Thought of the Day

In health, fitness, and life, we’re often too focused on the big picture. We get so caught up in where we want to go that we forget to enjoy the journey. Big steps and giant leaps forward seem like the only ones that matter but often, it's not the big things that hold us back, but the small, consistent missteps. When we aren’t moving in the right direction with our little steps, we can easily end up lost.

Right now, ask yourself: What path are your habits leading you toward in fitness, health, and life?

At the end of last week, I was fortunate to be in a room full of successful business owners. It was inspiring to see people excelling not just in business, but also in family life and health. In talking with them, it became clear they got to where they are by making the right moves, one step at a time. The quickest way to torpedo your success is to get impatient and take a major misstep or what feels like a shortcut. Real improvement comes from small shifts, not total overhauls.

This week, look at something that’s truly important to you and reflect on the daily actions you're taking to move toward it.

Doing the little things right leads to success—and more joy—on the journey. At the end of 2025, where do you want to be with your health and fitness? Look at your habits today and start taking small daily steps to bring you closer to that vision. By December, you can be closer to your goal. It just takes consistent and intentional action.
