Thank you to members and coaches for bearing with us through June lifting platform repairs.  We are excited for the new training space but meanwhile, classes are a bit squishy and the airflow is not what we are used to.  Your patience is appreciated!

Empower’s remarkable growth over the past few years has been exciting but also poses challenges.  With all the programs currently running, our coaching team is getting spread quite thin and coach burn out is becoming a real concern.  This is not helped by the fact that one of our all-star coaches, our beloved Shaft, will be relocating with her family to the south of France in August.  We are excited for the adventures that await her but are struggling to figure out how we will fill the gap in our coaching team that her departure will create.

In 2018 we put out a call for coaches Shades, Big Cat, Dangers and Super Mario stepped up to help.  Next it was Hardrock, Silk, Motor, OG and Shaft.  On our support team we have had Fierce, Kriss Kross, Auto and Rockstar.  We are at that place again where Empower needs to find and train a new generation of coaches to help us continue delivering group classes, personal training and specialty programs to our members.

Here are our specific support needs.

Coaches:
CrossFit Group Class Coaches
(CrossFit Level 1 certification required)
We have both early morning, midday and evening shifts available. Back up coverage also required.

Youth Programs
(CrossFit or comparable certification required)
Support OG in delivering our very popular youth programs.

Personal Training
(CrossFit or comparable certification required)
Flexible schedule

Specialty Programs
(CrossFit or comparable certification required)
Do you have special skills that would help our members excel?  We are always looking for small group specialty programs that focus on specific skill development.

Support Roles:
Onboarding Team
Meet with prospective new members to determine their fitness goals and help them identify the program that best suits their needs.

Customer Success Manager
Support Empower members in getting the most out of their membership.

Marketing Coordinator
Help plan our annual program overview and organize marketing campaigns to help fill programs.

Monday
Today’s workout should be a 15 to 30 minute zone 2 cardio day.  With only 4 airbikes, a 5K row is a comparable substitute.  We will run in two groups so that we maximize access to equipment but there are no guarantees you will get to use a bike.  Personally I subbed the row.

Warm Up
3 rounds:
Rowling
5 burpees penalty

WOD A
10K Bike or 5K Row

WOD B
20 min EMOM
Even minutes: 30 sec skipping, 30 sec rest
Odd minutes: 30 sec get ups, 30 sec rest

Choose your skipping style, see if you can get a personal best (first crossovers, first consecutive double unders, first backwards skip, etc)

Choose your get up style and load (kip up, roll up, sandbag get up, medball get up, dumbbell Turkish Get Up, etc)
