If you train in combat sports — or want conditioning inspired by them — Fight Fit is designed to support your performance off the mats and out of the ring, so you can keep doing what you love.

Fight Fit is a 6-week specialty program at Empower Every Body Fitness in Vancouver that blends functional strength training, conditioning, and movement patterns drawn directly from combat sports.

What Is Fight Fit?

Fight Fit is a performance-support training program built for combat athletes and sport-focused adults who want to:

  • Improve conditioning without burning out

  • Build usable strength and power

  • Reduce injury risk through smarter training

  • Stay consistent in their primary sport

This program combines years of martial arts and strength & conditioning experience into training that complements — rather than competes with — your time on the mats or in the ring.

You’ll train hard, but with purpose.

Who Fight Fit Is For

Fight Fit is a great fit if you:

  • Practice combat sports such as judo, jiu jitsu, boxing, Muay Thai, wrestling, or karate

  • Want conditioning that actually transfers to your sport

  • Need strength training that supports longevity and durability

  • Enjoy structured, coached training with clear intent

You do not need to be an elite or competitive athlete — just willing to train with focus.

Program Structure & Training Style

Fight Fit runs as a 6-week small-group program, with sessions designed to support combat sport demands.

Expect:

  • Sport-informed warm-ups and mobility work

  • Strength training using kettlebells, dumbbells, and bodyweight

  • Conditioning intervals inspired by fight-round pacing

  • Carries, rotational work, sleds, and core training

  • Coaching emphasis on breathing, efficiency, and movement quality

This is not sparring and not a martial arts technique class — it’s the training that keeps you training.

Fridays, 5:00-6:30 pm

Program Length:

6 weeks

Enrollment:

  • Open to Empower members and non-members

  • Limited spots for coaching quality

Once spots are filled, registration closes.

Coaching: Learn From Someone Who Lives the Sport

Fight Fit is coached by Leon, whose background bridges competitive martial arts and functional fitness.

Coach Leon:

  • Competes in Judo, Jiu Jitsu, and CrossFit

  • Global CompNet Champion (2023)

  • 3rd place at Canadian Judo Nationals (2025) after a 15-year break from competition

This program is built on firsthand experience — not theory.
